Due to the Current Virus Situation the committee wish to inform everyone the following:
The AGM and Lunch is now Cancelled
All OHA meetings on the 1st Tuesday of each month are cancelled until further notice
The decisions have not been taken lightly but in view
of the current situation we need to keep all our members safe.
Urgent Notice 08/03/2020
In relation to the article on "Saving HMS President" in the 2020 OHA Newsletter and the post on this website, we are sorry to report it has come to our notice that Lisa-Marie and her business partner Danny have been involved in many historic ship restoration projects similar to that of HMS President, all involving crowd-funding appeals, none of which have resulted in a successful outcome.
We understand that the crowd-funding for HMS President has been stopped and a fraud investigation is ongoing, prompted by complaints from previous sponsors of one of the other projects. The article published in the newsletter was written in good faith and we were dismayed on hearing this information, which was provided by a member of the Old Hands Association.
We have removed all links to websites that refer to appeals to restore HMS President and if any OHA member should be contacted by Lisa-Marie or Danny please be aware that they are not endorsed by the OHA.

There has been an issue with some of the Newsletters that have gone out by Royal Mail. Members have complained that the envelope turns up damaged and no book inside. After an investigation it appears that a machine at a sorting office in the Gatwick area has caused this damage.
Would you be so kind to put a post up on the facebook page and the website that if members have not received their Newsletters in the post would they please e-mail me (email@example.com ) and I will send out another book to them.
For members of the Old Hands Association - a quick reminder that the OHA Lunch will be held onboard HMS President in the wardroom on Saturday 13th April 2019. If you want to attend the closing date for applications is this Saturday 6th April. The AGM will also be held on the day of the lunch. Timings are: 11:00hrs, AGM in the Junior Rates Mess (tea and coffee available), 12:00 bar opens, 13:00 sit down to lunch. The cost is £44 for two course plus cheeseboard. You can also pre-order a bottle of red or white wine for £8. If you would like to attend let me know and I will pass on your details to the Social Secretary. Otherwise there are more details about the lunch and how to apply in the OHA Newsletter. Over 50 members attending so far. I look forward to seeing you there if you are going.
